Product Description

This product adopts hot melt adhesive, with high initial adhesion, holding adhesion, 90° peeling force, and a certain low temperature resistance. Heat sensitive surface material has excellent waterproof, oil and alcohol proof effect, no ink or carbon consumption, clear printing

Print&Process

Can be used in most traditional printing methods for printing. Due to the thermal sensitivity of the product, the processing environment above 50°C should be avoided. Inks containing alcohol or volatile organic solvents may damage the thermal layer. UV or water-based ink and varnish are recommended for flexographic printing. It is recommended to test the ink before printing. It can be used for non-direct contact labeling of food, medicine, cosmetics and other products.

Storage&Preservation

Long-term exposure to an environment above 50°C or direct sunlight should be avoided. It is valid for one year at temperature 23±2°C and relative humidity 50±5%. Products beyond the expiry date can still be used after passing the inspection.

Construction:

Direct thermal label material is typically composed of three main layers:

● 1. Base Material: The base material serves as the foundation and support for the label. It is often made of paper or synthetic materials such as polypropylene or polyester, depending on the desired durability and application requirements.

● 2. Thermal Coating: The thermal coating layer contains a specialized chemical formulation known as a thermal-sensitive material. This coating reacts to heat, enabling the production of images or text when exposed to a thermal printer.

● 3. Protective Coating: The top layer, also known as the protective coating, safeguards the label from environmental factors, such as moisture, heat, and abrasion. It enhances the durability and longevity of the label.

Working Principle:

The working principle of direct thermal label material relies on the heat generated by a thermal printer's print head. When the print head comes into contact with the thermal coating, it heats specific areas, causing a chemical reaction in the coating. This reaction leads to the formation of an image or text on the label without the need for any additional consumables

Advantages:

● 1. Cost-effectiveness: Direct thermal labels eliminate the need for ink, toners, or ribbons, resulting in significant cost savings.

● 2. Convenience: With no additional consumables required, direct thermal labels offer hassle-free and quick printing.

● 3. Durability: Advanced direct thermal label materials are designed to resist fading, moisture, and harsh environmental conditions, ensuring long-lasting readability.

● 4. Eco-friendly: The absence of ink or toner cartridges in direct thermal label printing reduces waste and supports eco-friendly practices.

● 5. Versatility: Direct thermal labels find applications in various industries, including logistics, retail, healthcare, and manufacturing, due to their compatibility with a wide range of products and packaging materials.

Applications:

Shipping and Logistics: Direct thermal labels are commonly used for printing shipping labels, tracking information, and barcodes, allowing efficient supply chain management.

1.Shipping and Logistics: Direct thermal labels are commonly used for printing shipping labels, tracking information, and barcodes, allowing efficient supply chain management.

2. Retail and Warehousing: Price tags, shelf labels, and inventory tracking labels are frequently printed using direct thermal label material, streamlining retail operations.

3. Healthcare: Direct thermal labels find applications in hospitals and pharmacies for labeling medication, patient identification wristbands, and specimen labeling.

4. Manufacturing and Industrial: Direct thermal labels are used for product labeling, asset tracking, and quality control processes in manufacturing and industrial environments.

Considerations:

1. Sensitivity to Heat and Light: Direct thermal labels may fade or darken over time when exposed to heat and light, so it is important to store them properly and avoid extended exposure to direct sunlight.

2. Limited Longevity: Direct thermal labels generally have a shorter lifespan compared to other labeling methods, which should be considered for applications requiring long-term label durability.

3. Print Head Maintenance: Regular maintenance and cleaning of the thermal printer's print head are necessary to ensure optimal print quality and prevent debris buildup.

Direct thermal label material offers a cost-effective, convenient, and versatile solution for various labeling needs. By considering the specific requirements of your application, direct thermal labels can be an excellent choice for efficient and reliable labeling solutions.
